April 4, 2014

Hi Fish Families!

Dramatic Play will become a restaurant next week. If anyone has any server aprons, order slips or menus, would would love to borrow them to supplement what we have here at school. Thanks!

Here is a glimpse of our week in the fish class:

Language Arts: During Readers' Workshop we have been learning about some characteristics of non-fiction books. The children have learned about the Table of Contents, Glossary, and Headings. They love learning information from these texts.  The children continue to make nice progress with our "How To" writing.

Math: We have been busy completing the 3rd quarter math assessments. I will be sharing this information at conferences. The progress is amazing to see! The children played Race to 50 on the Promethean this week. We made a fruit graph with all the fruit the children brought in on Monday. Thank you for your support with this!

Science:  We continue to count down the days until the chicks hatch. We are hoping to have chicks by Wednesday (or Thursday).

Donation Requests:
  • Tissues
  • Bags of flour for our texture table
Up-coming Events:
  • First Full Wednesday begins- 4/30
  • Early Releases For April Conferences- 4/9 & 4/16
  • April Vacation- 4/21-4/25

Fondly,
Kristen
